We present below a list of indicative project-references using MERMIG:

INNOVA - Collection, Analysis and Exploitation of Results Obtained from Ongoing Innovation Projects

Client: DG Enterprise & Industry

The aim of the Europe INNOVA Portal is to become an attractive medium for all the European Innovation community. At the same time it is able to act as a reference point for the whole world about the advancements of innovation in Europe. For this reason, it was made rich in content, credible, efficient in its content organisation, usable, accessible and up to date.

Europe INNOVA Collaboration Extranet is an internet-based secure environment developed by EUROPEAN DYNAMICS. It provides online collaboration services supporting the collection and dissemination of data exchanged by users. Furthermore, the extranet is fully equipped with process and knowledge management features, and can be leveraged as a fully-fledged Content Management System.

The extranet fulfils the need for a powerful, flexible, reliable and user-friendly Web-based collaboration environment. It enables the innovation community, geographically dispersed across Europe, to maintain a private space on the Internet, for sharing information, archiving documents, organising online discussions and benefiting from all its other functionalities.

NYCE – New York Collaboration Environment

Client: General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union

NYCE is a tool within which allows users to share information, organize meetings and to collaborate on documents providing to the users the ability to work between different workgroups. This system is destined to become the primary medium in which the documents and information are communicated among the NYLO personnel, the members of the Permanent Representations in the UN of the EU Member States and the EU aligning countries.

NYCE is an Internet web application accessible via standard web browsers. The tool provides each user with a view of the data and services to which he/she is allowed access according to the "What you see is what you have access to" principle. The information on the system is stored on workgroups. Access permissions are set for each workgroup individually along the same guidelines.

For all the data elements (e.g. documents, meetings etc) that are uploaded to the system a notification e-mail is sent to all members of the corresponding workgroup. Each workgroup is supported by additional services such as forum, e-mail, search, agenda and workflow which all support "Need to Know" separation of the information they contain.

The core functionality of the system may also be used by additional user groups. All the elements that make reference to requirements originated by NYLO will be configurable and removed from the system so that NYCE is made a more generic collaboration platform.

Establishment and maintenance of an online resource database and documentation centre on PAR in Eastern Europe and the CIS

Client: United Nations Development Programme, Bratislava

One of the major goals of the project was to build a programming-oriented regional PAR network by bringing together UNDP’s regional Public Administration Reform and Anti-Corruption (PAR-AC) CoP and the network of Focal Points developed by the UNTC. The obvious complementarities between these two networks in terms of members’ profile and outreach were to help enhancing their knowledge and programming capabilities.

For the successful integration and efficient communication among the network’s members, the Project concerned the development of an on-line regional PAR resource centre, with an active virtual community of practitioners and experts engaged in moderated forums and other activities aimed at increasing the role in programming and implementation of project activities.

EUROPEAN DYNAMICS was responsible for delivering the following services/deliverables:

  • Design, creation and implementation of the web site (databases, web scripting, graphical layout);
  • Detailed documentation (user documentation, in the form of user manuals and technical documentation).
  • Training for end-users and technical staff.

The system was fully based on MERMIG and ensures reliable and highly available services as well as content dissemination in a standardised and straightforward manner.
